Work Packages

Our project is structured into six interconnected work packages, each focusing on specific objectives to amplify migration voices and create lasting impact.

The Project Management Work Package ensures the effective coordination, quality assurance, and timely implementation of all project activities. As the coordinating body, the Directorate of Communications (DoC) oversees the entire process in close collaboration with project partners, ensuring that all tasks are carried out according to plan and aligned with the project's objectives.

Throughout the project lifecycle, clear roles and responsibilities are defined, and structured workflows are established to support efficient collaboration. Regular monitoring is conducted through periodic meetings and progress reviews, allowing the partnership to track developments, address challenges, and maintain momentum. Digital project management tools are used to facilitate communication, monitor tasks, and ensure transparency across all stages.

Crafting Voices is a podcast series exploring how migration is understood, discussed, and represented in today's media landscape. Bringing together young communicators, researchers, and practitioners, the series creates a space for critical conversations on migration narratives, mis/disinformation, and ethical communication.

Through each episode, we aim to amplify diverse perspectives and unpack the complex realities behind migration stories. From media framing and public discourse to the role of digital tools and artificial intelligence, Crafting Voices examines how narratives are shaped—and how they can be transformed.

Currently in development, the series features interviews, expert insights, and real experiences from across Europe. As part of the Youth Migration Voices project, it contributes to empowering a new generation of communicators to challenge stereotypes, promote inclusion, and build more responsible storytelling practices.

Stay tuned as we craft the voices that shape the future of migration communication.

This work package focuses on equipping young communicators and youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to navigate migration communication in the digital age. Through the development of comprehensive training modules, the project aims to strengthen media literacy, promote ethical reporting, and improve understanding of migration and disinformation.

A key component of this work package is the integration of artificial intelligence into communication practices. Participants will be introduced to AI-supported tools that help detect disinformation and support the creation of ethical and fact-based media content. Through hands-on workshops and practical sessions, including an international training activity, young communicators and youth workers will enhance their digital and creative skills while learning how to apply AI in real-world communication contexts.

Beyond individual capacity building, this work package also aims to create long-term impact by empowering youth workers to guide others in migration communication and digital media practices. In addition, a comparative research study on migration communication strategies among partner countries will be developed and disseminated to a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Outputs

  • Training Modules on Migration Communication — covering ethical reporting, digital literacy, disinformation, migrant narratives, visual communication, and the use of AI.
  • Research & Practical Guide — a comparative study on migration and media representation across Europe, translated into practical guides shared through events and publications.
  • AI-Powered Workshops — interactive sessions introducing young communicators to AI tools that improve content quality and detect disinformation.

This work package focuses on bringing migration communication closer to communities by raising public awareness and encouraging active participation. Through interactive and creative approaches such as photo and video exhibitions, public campaigns, and community-based activities, the project aims to promote a deeper understanding of ethical and responsible migration communication.

A central element is the promotion of inclusive and human-centred migration narratives. Through storytelling workshops, participatory events, and creative initiatives, young communicators and youth workers will be supported in developing content that reflects real experiences and diverse perspectives, with particular emphasis on amplifying the voices of migrant youth.

The work package will also produce sustainable communication tools — including a migration communication glossary and a community engagement toolkit — designed to support accurate, ethical, and inclusive communication practices beyond the project's duration.

Key Outputs

  • Voice of Photographs / Videos Exhibition — a creative showcase of photos and videos by young communicators, presented digitally and at the final event.
  • Public Awareness Campaigns — social media campaigns and visual materials that raise awareness, challenge disinformation, and promote empathy.
  • Community Engagement Toolkit — practical methods such as storytelling workshops, role-playing, and participatory media approaches.

This work package focuses on maximising the visibility, impact, and long-term sustainability of the project. Through a combination of dissemination activities, evaluation processes, and stakeholder engagement, the project aims to ensure that its results reach a wide audience and continue to create value beyond its lifetime.

A key component is the establishment of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework. Both qualitative and quantitative methods will be used to assess the effectiveness of project activities, measure participant satisfaction, and track improvements in digital skills and AI competencies.

In parallel, the project will actively build and engage a network of stakeholders, including youth organisations, NGOs, and academic institutions. To ensure long-term impact, all project outputs will be made accessible through an online resource centre, and the project will conclude with a final meeting where results, lessons learned, and future opportunities are discussed.
